Quilt Education Grant Program


The NEORQC Quilt Education Grant is a program to provide up to $500 to organization to promote the fine art of quilting and raise the public awareness of the art form. 


This money can be used for supplies, field trips admissions and workshop fees for education of textiles, history, mixed media, traditional, or the art form of quilting.


Applying organizations can be for children or adults, large or small, school, scout, guild, or otherwise. It can be from any of the counties in North East Ohio. See the requirements below and the application form for more information.
  
NEORQC Mission: The purpose of this organization is to promote fellowship and to act as a coordinating body for the quilting activities of the members of the Council. The Council shall work to promote the fine art of quilting and raise the public awareness of the art form.
All applications must be submitted to NEORQC Quilt Grant Committee Chair by July 1, 2010. Applications will be reviewed and awarded by October 2, 2010. All projects must be completed and a presentation prepared for the October 2, 2011
NEORQC general meeting. The date of the meeting will be sent to each Coordinator. All forms must be mailed to the address on the application form.

Project: Details should include how quilting is involved with the project, such as use of textiles, history, mixed media, traditional methods, or the art form of quilting.

Benefits: Applications should list how this grant will incorporate the mission of NEORQC as stated above.

Timeline: Show detail how the project will be completed by the deadline in Oct.
Presentation at the October 2011 meeting will include as many of the participants as possible. An invitation to the general meeting and lunch is extended to all participating in the presentation. 

Budget: Will provide up to $500 for supplies, field trips admissions and workshop fees. All expenses should be noted. Please make copies of receipts to turn in at the October presentation meeting with a short report.

All NEORQC Quilt Grant organizations must be located in the following counties:
Ashland, Ashtabula, Carroll, Columbiana, Coshocton, Cuyahoga, Geauga, Harrison, Holmes, Jefferson, Knox, Lake, Lorain, Mahoning, Medina, Portage, Stark, Summit, Trumbull, Tuscarawas and Wayne. Each county has many guild representatives which would be glad to help you with any part of your project. The web site is NEORQC.com

If you can not be present at the October 2011 meeting for your presentation please send a written report, video, Power Point, or some type of visual aide to show our membership how you spent the grant money.
